ARBITRATION (Issues & Sector/Industry)

Has issued 69 grievance arbitration awards involving discipline/discharge, contract interpretation regarding drug testing, hours of work, overtime pay, layoff/recall/bumping, job posting, promotions, and changes in working conditions, among other issues.

 

FEE AND EXPENSE PRACTICE:  $1,000 per day or part thereof for hearing or mediation.  In addition to the per diem, a prorated per diem is charged where the day of hearing (including travel to and from the hearing site) exceeds eight hours.  A pro-rated per diem is charged for study and writing of less than eight hours and for travel when not on a hearing day.  Travel expenses reimbursed from Madison, WI for actual expenses and use of personal vehicle reimbursed at the then current IRS rate for mileage.

 

Cancellation fee: $500 for any cancellation of a scheduled hearing day where notice is received within 7 to 30 days prior to the hearing date.  $1,000 for any cancellation of a scheduled hearing day where notice is received less than 7 days prior to the hearing date, plus actual travel expenses, if incurred.

 

NOTE:  The arbitrator shall not charge any fee other than the above-stated fees.
