The WERC and related Court labor relations decisions available on this site in PDF format include both those issued prior to July, 1989, the beginning date of the fully-searchable WERC decisions database on theWisBar website., and those issued in and after July, 1989, as well. The available PDF archive decisions consist of municipal sector cases back through 1962 and private and state sector cases back through 1971. Those decisions can be accessed directly if the WERC decision number is known, or by use of the linked tables referenced on this page. (Note: use of linked lists is the recommended method for accessing court decisions.)
To access a decision file directly, copy the sample internet address (URL) below to the "address" or "location" space on your browser, substitute the decision number you are searching for "15503-B" and then press "go" or otherwise direct your browser to access that revised location. Be sure to include a single hyphen followed by an upper case letter if the decision number includes a letter. Also be sure to leave the ".pdf" at the end and the rest of the address the same. To access a decision using the linked tables, follow the link to the table of your choice. Because of their size, the tables may take a few minutes to open. The highlighted links in the second column of each table correspond to the .pdf filename of a viewable, printable and downloadable award files in PDF format. Use of the linked lists and of the award files to which they are linked requires Adobe Acrobat Reader software. Installation of that software on the user's computer should enable the user to view, print and perform simple text searches within individual list or interest award files, either on-line or from copies of the PDF files that the user downloads and saves to disk.
The filename of WERC decisions corresponds to the agency decision number appearing in the caption of the document. The filename of Court decisions begin with the five digits and any letter (hyphen eliminated) of the WERC decision involved, followed by a letter designating the court involved (C for Circuit Court, A for Court of Appeals, S for Wisconsin Supreme Court, U for US Supreme Court.), sometimes followed by a number distinguishing among multiple documents issued in the case by the same court.) The user can follow any of the links on the list to view or print the file involved. However, to locate a word or phrase within such a file, it is necessary to use the browser Find function (use the Find button on the Acrobat Plug-in toolbar for searching PDF files), entering the word or phrase and searching for each occurrence thereof.

The search engine provides a list of citations to files matching the search criteria entered. Follow the link to the file it represents, and then use the Find button on the Acrobat Plug-in toolbar (not your Browser's Find button) for searching PDF files, by entering the word or phrase and searching for each occurrence thereof.
