for Finding WERC and Related Court Decisions On-Line
To find a particular decision issued in or after July of 1989, either use the general WisBar search engine by entering search criteria that would appear in the decision or award document, or search for the decision using the WERC PDF decisions archive. To find a particular decision issued before July of 1989, either search for the decision using the WERC PDF decisions archive or open the linked list(s) of pre-July, 1989 decisions available on the WERC website, and use your browser's Find command to search for the decision number or employer involved.
To find decisions issued by a particular examiner or tribunal in or after July of 1989, either use the general WisBar search engine or the UltraSeek search engine on the WERC PDF decisions archive, by entering the last name (or preferably the full name of the arbitrator as it typically appears at the end of decisions/awards) and any other desired search criteria, or use the WisBar arbitrator/tribunal indexes year by year or the WERC website decisions lists to find and view the documents. To find recently issued decisions or awards use the WisBar date indexes in the current calendar year or the WERC linked list to decisions issued November 2003-on.
To find subsequent WERC decisions directly involving an earlier case for which you have the decision number or employer/respondent name, use the Wisbar decision number or employer/respondent indexes year by year (and/or the appropriate linked list of PDF decisionson the WERC website) to find any such documents.
To find subsequent WERC decisions citing an earlier case, use the general WisBar search engine or the UltraSeek search engine regarding PDF archive decisions, entering the decision number as a search criterion.

To find decisions using the State of Wisconsin's UltraSeek search engine, use the advanced search screen customized for decisions searches. Enter search terms and adjust the screen settings to search for those words in the text of the documents.
To find decisions issued by a particular examiner or tribunal before July of 1989, either (a) open appropriate the linked list(s) of PDF decisions available on the WERC website, and use your browser's Find command to search for the examiner name or tribunal involved; or (b) use the advanced search screen customized for decisions searches and enter search terms for a search of the titles of the decisions files in the WERC website database.
