Directions to the WERC Madison Office

The agency's headquarters office in Madison is located at 18 South Thornton Avenue, at the corner of South Thornton Avenue and East Washington Avenue (US Hwy 151). The office is 1.4 miles east northeast of the State Capitol and immediately west of the Yahara River. [view map, however,] please be advised that although the map suggests otherwise, Thornton Avenue is no longer accessible from either East Washington Avenue or East Main Street, and Thornton Avenue no longer connects East Main and Williamson Streets.

FROM THE EAST -- At Exit 138 from Interstate-90 or Exit 240 from Interstate-94, exit onto westbound Wisconsin Hwy 30. Go 2.7 miles and exit at US 151 (East Washington Avenue). Go 1.5 miles southwest on East Washington to a left turn on First Street. Go about 1 block southeast and turn right onto East Main Street. Go over the bridge and immediately after crossing Thornton Avenue, turn into the parking lot in the rear of our building.  Walk to Washington Avenue side of building to enter.

FROM THE STATE CAPITOL -- Go northeast on East Washington Avenue (US Hwy 151) about 1.4 miles from the Capitol Building to a right turn into the WERC office parking lot just after crossing railroad tracks just before reaching Thornton Avenue and before crossing the Yahara River.) (If you miss the entrance to our lot, cross Thornton Avenue and cross the river, turn right onto First Street and follow the rest of the instructions in the preceding paragraph.)

For additional assistance, call the WERC Madison office at 608-266-1381.
