KEY TOPIC TABLE FOR PERSONNEL COMMISSION DECISIONS FROM 1999 TO 2001 (PA CASES)

In 2003, the WERC became responsible for hearing and deciding appeals arising from certain State civil service personnel actions. These cases are now sometimes referred to as “Personnel Appeals” or “PA cases.” From 1978 until 2003, this authority rested with the State Personnel Commission, which no longer exists. This webpage provides very brief descriptions of the topics addressed in all substantive decisions issued by the Personnel Commission from April 7, 1999 through June 28, 2001. (Caution: The Personnel Commission’s authority extended beyond PA cases, so the case summaries of Personnel Commission decisions include many references that are unrelated to PA cases.)

Many of the listed decisions are available in PDF format by following the highlighted link in the case number column. Those without a highlighted link are not available in electronic form. However, hard copies of these decisions are available at the State Law Library or from the WERC.

The summaries were created by WERC Staff Attorney Kurt Stege. While every effort has been made to accurately summarize the underlying decisions, the contents of the summaries are not to be construed as official rulings of the State Personnel Commission, or of the reviewing courts.
