KEY TOPIC TABLE FOR WERC DECISIONS SINCE 2003 (PA
CASES)
This table identifies the key subjects of substantive decisions relating to the WERC’s authority to review certain State civil service personnel actions, often referred to as "personnel appeals" or “PA cases.” The table encompasses decisions issued since the WERC acquired this responsibility in 2003 and is updated approximately twice per year. Consequently, decisions issued in the most recent several months may not be reflected. The text of the decisions listed on this page can be accessed either from a linked list or via a full text search.
If errors are discovered in the information listed in this, please bring them to the attention of Kurt Stege, at (608)266-3299 or kurt.stege@wisconsin.gov
While this table has been prepared by WERC staff for the convenience of interested persons, it is important to remember that the decisions themselves are the ultimate source of Commission precedent.
Persons who use the table to locate decisions in order to cite them as authority in a court proceeding should take note of Sec. 809.23(3), Stats., which provides that an unpublished decision of the Court of Appeals is of no precedential value and, for that reason, may not be cited in any court in this state as precedent or authority, except in very limited circumstances. Such decisions are referenced in this table as an informational service only, and their use contrary to Sec. 809.23(3), Stats., is not encouraged.
