Searching Interest Awards 1972-present

[Search Interest Awards 1972-Present]

The WERC website includes a database of PDF files consisting of all non-consent interest awards issued under WERC auspices in Wisconsin since statutory interest arbitration was introduced in 1971. Those of the awards issued before January 1999 and a few issued since had to be scanned and optical character recognized rather than converted from word processor files. Those scanned file take longer to view, print or download, and their search reliability is limited to the accuracy of machine-based character recognition. Fact-finding recommendations are not included in the database because they are not binding on the parties involved. The interest awards database is updated monthly within a few days of the end of each calendar month.

The interest awards in the WERC database can be multi-file searched with the State of Wisconsin's UltraSeek search engine. UltraSeek will access more than 98% of the files in the interest awards database, missing only the very largest of the files in the database. To UltraSeek search for interest awards using a customized advanced search screen [click here].For more information about searching the WERC website with UltraSeek [click here].

The interest awards in the WERC database can also be searched with other web search engines, such as Google and Yahoo. While those commercial search engines may be able to find all of the WERC files regardless of their size, the search features, reliability and user-friendliness may not be comparable to those available with UltraSeek searches.
