Staff Updates
Raleigh Jones, Staff Attorney, will be retiring from the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission on April 22, 2022. Raleigh has demonstrated great commitment to the Commission’s mission with over 40 years’ worth of contributions. Due to this departure, the Commission has hired Anfin Jaw who started in February. Henry Hempe
Former WERC Commissioner and agency Chairman, Henry Hempe, passed away on January 17, 2022 after a long illness. He was 83.

Our Office Has Moved
Effective Thursday, September 27, 2018, the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission has relocated to 2418 Crossroads Drive, Suite 1000, Madison, WI  53718-7896. Our telephone and fax numbers have not changed.

New Chairman at the WERC
Effective Saturday, September 23, 2017, James Daley was appointed by Governor Walker as the Chairman of the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission for a six-year term expiring March 1, 2023, extending his prior appointment as Commissioner where he has served for the past two years. Prior to his appointment, Jim served three terms as the Mayor of Oconomowoc, was an Assistant United States Attorney, and served as a Counsel for the Judiciary Committee in the United States House of Representatives. Jim looks forward to maintaining the high level of service historically provided by the Commission and its staff as well as seeking opportunities for new and more efficient ways to serve the citizens of Wisconsin.

WERC Organizational Structure Changes
Pursuant to the provisions of the 2017-19 state budget, the structure of the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission substantially changed effective Saturday, September 23, 2017.  The three-person Commission became a one-person Commission and the Chief Legal Counsel position was eliminated along with one staff attorney position. The Commission now consists of one Chairman, three staff attorneys, and two support staff. See our Staff Directory page for further details.
